Photographer, MUA, & Artist
Where you from? What’s your clan: I am from Ganado, AZ. Right across from the rodeo grounds haha. Tsi'naajinii nishłį́. Tł'ízí Łání ’éí báshíshchíín.Tódích'íi'nii éí dashicheii. 'Áshįįhí 'éí dashinálí.
Favorite moment of 2017: I have had several favorite moments so far. Narrowing it down I think my all time favorite moment is when I had my senior art show. Being able to see my work up and have a lot of family and friends come show support was incredible.
When I’m not working I’m usually: Hanging with my family, eating, singing, dancing, posting silly Instagram stories, planning my next big project, trying to control my makeup buying habits haha.
My dream photoshoot partner: RICHARD AVEDON!! He was a famous photographer that worked for fashion magazines and did fine art work as well. If he was still living I would LOVE to work with him.
I most feel like myself when: I have some glitter on my eyes, when the contour comes out right, I got my favorite band tee on, and when I can dance :)
Something you might be surprised I love to do: I like to feel the ocean but not swim in it. I like to go to Disneyland for the food and the characters but not to go on the rides. I like being in a crowd of individuals but I'm really shy and self conscious.
The most important relationship I’ve learned so far: My relationship with my mother definitely. Growing up I've always known my mom was amazing. Now as I'm becoming a young woman, I see how important she is. Her presence in general makes everything better. The knowledge she has gifted me with is better than anything I could learn in school. My mom is my light, as well as my sisters. Our relationship as a family has shaped me into who I am today.
My style Icon: I really love Nadia Aboulhosn's style, she is full figured and knows how to just kill it in every outfit she puts on. She doesn't stick with one style too is something I like because I sometimes I like to be more edgy or other days I definitely want to feel girly. To be completely honest Kim and Shondina are my style icons too. Their mix of traditional wear and modern threads is what I would like to achieve. Kim and Shondina put together amazing outfits with hardly any effort, their effortlessly gorgeous.
A musician I am loving right now: ADELE, her song "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" gets me amped up! Everything about Adele is goals, she is my queen. Her talent, her confidence, her style! Something about that song specifically makes me feel powerful, that I shouldn't be afraid to succeed, to not let what anyone says or do bring me down.
A few women that inspire me:
1) Shíma 2) Jaclyn Roessel 3) Siera Begay
why? They're fearless ladies, they love with all their hearts, they know the importance of family. These ladies are who I want to be when I grow up. They love what they do and don't let anything hold them back. All three of them have so much strength.
Beauty Tips?: Love yourself, that's the most important tip I can give. Wear what you want to wear, apply your makeup however you want...own it. Screw those people who try to tell you it's not the "right" way. When it comes to defining how you feel beautiful don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
