The band’s fifth album, “Adult Children Part 1” is an audio explosion of their most personal work to date. Dorothy, Natasha, and Carla grew up with parents who struggled with alcohol and drug abuse. They turned to music to help them deal with that trauma and express their emotions. After their mother’s death in 2017, they felt even more of a calling to share their experience, and inspire others in similar circumstances. “We named the new album “Adult Children” based on the book, ‘Adult Children of Alcoholics,’” says Dorothy. “We saw that book and went, ‘Oh, that’s us.’ We’re adults but we still have issues because of how we were raised.”
The subject matter may be personal, but the music is all glam-rock. Emphasis on the “glam.” Dorothy, Natasha, and Carla’s style and costumes channel fun, outrageous, intergalactic divas, while their dance moves keep fans mesmerized.
